Ottawa Greek Festival

The Ottawa Greek Festival (GreekFest) was first held on August 15, 1975 to commemorate the namesake of our Church – the Dormition of the Virgin Mary.

Back then, the festival ran for only one day and was organized for the members of the Hellenic Community of Ottawa and their families.

Over time, the Hellenic Community of Ottawa grew and so did the appetite and interest of local residents. GreekFest eventually became one of the premiere Greek Festivals in North America with visitors from around the world.

GreekFest’s success would not be possible were it not for our dedicated and passionate volunteers that have made the event into what it is today.

We celebrate our culture with this special event and invite all of you to join us to “Live a Day the Greek Way”!
