About the Role

CONTRACT TERM: 26 Weeks     ANTICIPATED START DATE: April 7, 2025  END DATE: October 6, 2025


WORK SCHEDULE: 4 business days / 32 hours per week WORK LOCATION:  Hybrid (On-site during Festival and events)


JOB SUMMARY: This position is funded through Ontario’s Job Creation Partnerships (see eligibility details below). Reporting to the Development Manager and working with the Executive Director, Production Manager, and Office Administrator, assisting in the planning, coordination, and execution of special events and support Festival Operations.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate the planning of special events and meetings, respond to public inquiries about events. Provide input on resources, event processes, meetings, and event budgets; manage invitation lists and RSVPs

  • Assist in the development, management, and execution of existing and new special events;

  • Support Festival Hospitality needs

  • Support Festival Concessions – planning, scheduling, and ordering

  • Support Artist Merchandise sales

  • Work with the Artistic Team and Artifax for artist liaison, scheduling, and production planning in relation to organizational needs;

  • Other duties as assigned and required.

SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be self-motivated; and have the ability to work well independently on several projects concurrently, and possess excellent communication, organizational and creative thinking skills;

  • Must be a team player, and can work with a diverse group of individuals

  • Experienced in planning and implementing events as well as general office administration;

  • Demonstrated high energy level and flexibility, pleasant persona coupled with sound judgment;

  • Flexible, discreet and able to maintain confidential information, knowledge of correct protocol for specific situations;

  • Software proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, is required;

Additional Qualifications Required:

Candidate eligibility for JCP is determined according to the following criteria:

  1. An unemployed job seeker or those employed less than 20 hours per week.

  2. A permanent resident living in Ontario who is legally authorized to work in Canada.

  3. Meet at least 1 of the following criteria:

  4. Has an established Employment Insurance (EI) benefit period.

  5. Previously established an EI benefit period that has ended within the previous 60 months.

  6. Paid employee EI premiums (e.g. Box 18 on the T4) in at least 3 of the last 10 years while earnings have been at least $2000 in each of those years.

  7. Received the Employment Insurance Emergency Response benefit (CERB) within the previous 60 months.

NOTE: Persons currently enrolled in full-time academic studies are not eligible for consideration. Those who qualify to establish an Employment Insurance (EI) claim must do so prior to being considered for JCP participation.


Remuneration:

$688 per week paid biweekly by the Province of Ontario (average hourly rate: $21.50 based on 4 days/32 hours).
