Ottawa, ON – The Ottawa Children’s Festival de la jeunesse is pleased to announce that Story of a Day, by renowned Irish theatre, Branar, is joining the lineup. This exquisitely written immersive live performance is created in collaboration with Galway Music Residency.
Story of a Day takes audiences on a journey through the wonders of an ordinary day, brought to life with words and illustrations by renowned children’s author Mary Murphy and an original score by award-winning composer Tom Lane performed by Branar and Galway Music Residency.

The production features an accompanying chamber ensemble, under the musical direction of Ottawa’s own Julian Armour and members of the Thirteen Strings Orchestra. This unforgettable experience is for children aged 4+ and families alike.
Eoin O'Dubhghaill performs and narrates this story using a variety of elements including a stunning video, animal sounds, footsteps, musical instruments, bubbles, and bowls—all to enhance the immersive experience, through the perspective of the child of the story.
For a rare treat of beautifully synchronized story and music that celebrates the simple and everyday, please join us at Arts Court Theatre during the Ottawa Children's Festival de la jeunesse, May 8 to 12, 2025.
