Ottawa Festival Network (OFN) and Volunteer Ottawa (VO) are thrilled to announce the launch of the Ottawa Festival Volunteer Portal, a centralized hub designed to connect Ottawa’s vibrant festival scene with the volunteers who make these events possible.

This new portal offers a host of benefits for both member organizations and volunteers, ensuring an effortless connection between festivals and those looking to get involved.

For Festival Organizers

The portal provides OFN member organizations with exclusive discounted access to VO’s volunteer recruitment platform, which is the most-searched volunteer database in Ottawa. Member organizations can post their volunteer opportunities with confidence, knowing their listings will appear both on the dedicated festival portal and VO’s primary search page for maximum visibility.

Through this partnership, OFN members can also access the full range of benefits offered by VO including:

  • Priority Access to Volunteer Recruitment Events: Be first in line to reserve space at VO’s Volunteer Expo, connecting directly with prospective volunteers in person.

  • Free Online Training: Enjoy two free seats (space permitting) in VO’s online community workshops during your membership period.

  • Dedicated Member Pages: Each member has a personalized page showcasing their organization and active volunteer opportunities, optimized for search engines to attract even more attention.

With tools like email notifications for new applicants, downloadable volunteer lists, and advanced search filters, festival volunteer recruitment has never been easier. Many VO volunteers are seeking short-term or fixed-term opportunities, making the platform ideal for festivals.

For Volunteers

Experience the excitement of working behind the scenes at Ottawa’s iconic festivals! Volunteering for festivals is fun, rewarding, and a great way to support the city’s vibrant entertainment and cultural scene.

Through the new Festival Volunteer portal, volunteers can:

  • Discover Opportunities: Use filters to find roles that match your interests and schedule.

  • Create a Volunteer Profile: Make your profile visible to festival organizers and upload your resume for streamlined applications.

  • Apply for Free: The platform is completely free for volunteers to use, from creating an account to applying for roles.

Whether you’re a festival organizer looking to recruit the perfect team or a volunteer ready to dive into Ottawa’s festival scene, the Ottawa Festival Volunteer Portal is the place to go.
